SolaREDi alpha series telescope

"As part of our policy to test wherever possible, new products to be offered at My Astro Shop, the image at left was taken by us using a GSTAR-EX camera mounted directly into the visual back of the SolaREDi alpha 0.5Å Penta scope.

While I am by no means an experienced solar prominence astro-imager, I was delighted at this first attempt. The scope is not only light-weight but very quick and easy to set-up both visually and for astrophotography. While this image represents roughly what I could see visually, capturing both the small prominence and detail in the Sun required two separate exposure later combined using Adobe PhotoShop.

Solar activity has been low since we acquired the shop sample for testing however I look forward to fututre exciting events using this marvellous scope.
