Remember the planet Mercury is relatively tiny! Full disk viewing is fine for most applications but this event will be best observed at HIGH POWER!
Use your own refractor or SCT with larger aperture, larger resolution and a better view of the event. Daystar filters aren't aperture limited for resolution when you can move a Quark or Quantum from little scope to big refractor.
Doing public outreach? Your sidewalk visitors may not be able to detect the small dot of Mercury without high power views. Mercury is getting it's "day on the sun". Let it be seen.
