Q34XGF and Q34X2D2 Plate Application Guide
Efficient configuration of Daystar on refractors of the F/7-F/9 range using Tele Vue 4X Powermate
Step 1: Separate the Tele Vue 4X Powermate in its BLACK mid-section.
Step 2: Install Q34XGF plate to GOLD side of Daystar Filter.
Note that the Q34XGF has only INTERNAL, FEMALE THREADS.
This will receive the MALE threads of the glass-filled Powermate barrel.
Step 3: Install Q34X2D2 plate to RED side of Daystar Filter.
Note that the Q34X2D2 has only EXTERNAL, MALE THREADS.
This will receive the FEMALE threads of the empty drawtube barrel.
Step 4: Thead OPTICS end of Powermate to GOLD side of DayStar.
Thread EMPTY BARREL end of Powermate to RED side of DayStar.
NOTE: THREAD IS HARD TO ALIGN TO START THREADS. USE CARE ON ANGLE
Step 5: Assembly complete, the 4X and DayStar unit can be inserted into the telescope’s 2″ drawtube. Apply the assembly BEHIND the diagonal or focus will be hard to achieve.
